Helping to take on the OCR world!
The phrase ‘we’re delighted’ is often over-used, but in this case, the team at Mann Broadbent is properly delighted and excited to announce that we are sponsoring Amelia Cocksedge.
For those not in the know, Amelia is one of The OCR Girls – the only female junior obstacle course racing (OCR) team in the UK – and taking the OCR world by storm. OCR itself is the fastest growing mass participation sport in the world.
Although only in her teens, Amelia has already achieved more in the sport than many could hope to achieve in a lifetime of competing, with numerous medals to her name including being a Spartan Trifecta holder 2017 and 2018, Spartan World Championship competitor 2018 and most recently, OCR European Championship Qualifier 2019.
Duncan Sutcliffe, director, Mann Broadbent: “While we have a lot of experience in the OCR world helping clients with their insurance, the opportunity to help Amelia with her OCR career was one we could not pass up. The word that best sums Amelia up is ‘inspirational’ and we hope that our sponsorship will facilitate Amelia’s OCR trajectory in the UK and on the international stage.”
Amelia added: “It’s a fantastic opportunity to get such support from a leading insurance services company that understands exactly what obstacle course racing is all about, I really appreciate the support from Amanda, Duncan and all the team at Mann Broadbent and look forward to wearing my top with pride with our names on. This year will be very challenging and I am working towards the Spartan World Championships in Lake Tahoe California in September and at 9000 feet is one of the toughest courses in the world.”
