What is Land Owner’s Liability insurance?
Land Owner’s Liability insurance covers the owner of land or property for their legal liability for injury or damage to others. For example, it could cover you for a claim made by a visitor (or trespasser) injuring themselves whilst on your land or property.
If you own a commercial building, it is normally possible to include the property owner’s liability on a building insurance policy, including the surrounding land and access roads. Likewise, you can include liability for the land on your farm policy if you own a farm.
All types of ‘land’ can be covered, including
- Fields
- Woodland
- Brownfield sites
- Roads
- Water courses
- Development land
- Moorland
- Lakes
- Sports fields
- Pasture
- Building sites
- Bridges
